First day of school
“On August 2020 we made history. After all, we are the first class in our school to have their “last first day” at home because of the pandemic. The school and our parents made their best effort to make our “last first day” at home memorable and special. We put together a live stream full of memories that warmed our hearts and filled us with nostalgia, remembering the past years of our high school journey. Even though we relied on virtuality, we found a way to make it meaningful. After months of having our eyes get tired of screen time and only seeing each other’s avatar rather than our faces, we had the chance to finally see each other in person on October 20th, and experience at least a little bit of what a ‘traditional’ senior year is supposed to be, but even that little meant so much. The moment the Senior jackets were shown, the special activities teachers had prepared for us, and our parents’ surprise caravan, gave our “last first day” the meaning it deserved. The day we pressed the start button of what would become our Players’ 21 Senior Year.” Written by: Natalie Zahn, Senior 2021

BAMUN
“Through our time at Marymount, many of us had the privilege of participating in a club and conference that, I believe, changed our lives. For some, BAMUN was a place one could go to in order to meet with friends and debate about important issues of international concern. For others, it was so much more than that. BAMUN was, rather, a philosophy that exuded progress, respect, and leadership. At BAMUN we could be ourselves and hone into our passions. Whether you loved public speaking, photography, creative writing, design. Otherwise, BAMUN was home. On April 9th, 10th, and 11th, 2021, we got to see the culmination of years of hard work and dedication alongside our peers and, at long last, bid farewell to one of the greatest experiences of our lives.” Written by: Isabella Mejia, Senior 2021

Carnivals
“Just when we thought the Carnival spirit wouldn't fill our school with joy and festivity during this difficult year, we were able to safely have a Carnival much different from previous ones. Carnaval Reinas de Reinas was a way to remember and honor all of Seniors 21' past Carnivals and keep our city's tradition to celebrate this festivity, even if it had to be from home. Despite the situation, we were able to get together as a community and share moments of happiness that will forever be in our hearts and will be part of our school's history.” Written by: Maria Consuelo Narvaez, Senior 2021

Interact
“During all these years, Interact has meant more than just a club for me. Interact is a family that I will forever carry in my heart and that taught me that true happiness is found in helping others and in social service. Being able to celebrate 20 years of Interact as a senior is a true honor because we can celebrate 20 years where we have changed the lives of many people. I hope Interact continues to be such an incredible club and that, day by day, it strives to make this society a better one. As Interact’s president and senior I can say that this celebration not only commemorates the 150 members who actively participate in every activity, but it also acknowledges all those communities that we have been able to help over the years.” Written by: Geisha Haddad, Senior 2021
