Nursery through 12th grade
The Department has a team of counselors, professionals in Psychology, who work to promote social-emotional development in students and in the Marymount community.

Socio-emotional Learning
The students have a space once a week for the development of a program designed and directed by the counselors, aimed at the development of social-emotional competencies from the biological/sexual, psycho-affective, ethical/values and prevention aspects of the different evolutionary stages of the students, from Nursery to 12th grade. Students are accompanied, from the emotional aspect, in the changes they face throughout their schooling.

Speech Therapy

The speech therapist provides in-class intervention for preschool students in the areas of articulation, language development, auditory and cognitive processing. The therapist works with the preschool students to foster their home language. Interventions are provided to those students whose needs have been previously identified.
Child Care and Protection
Colegio Marymount de Barranquilla has adopted policies and procedures to ensure the care and protection of children. This includes a policy statement applicable to the entire educational community, shared definitions of abuse, exploitation and neglect, clear procedures for reporting and acting upon a disclosure, child protection training for students, families and employees, and explicit expectations for healthy interactions between adults and children, as well as between peers.
Early Intervention Program

Offered in preschool through 3rd grade. Provides additional instruction and practice to students who need it to achieve their goals, prevent future difficulties and enhance learning opportunities. Meets personal and academic needs, recognizing individual potential. The service includes interventions in and out of the classroom according to the student's needs.

Program for parents
Based on the principle of co-responsibility in which the family and the school are fundamental socializing agents in the formative process of children and adolescents, the Parenting Program is a space for information, training and reflection for parents on care and upbringing practices for their children.
The Parenting Program is for the family, a tool that facilitates communication, coexistence and integral formation of children and adolescents and strengthens the family-school bond for a true shared education.

Nursing
We have a nursing service for students and staff of Preschool, Elementary and High School. This service is designed to ensure the well-being of community members, provide stabilization, care and support in emergency situations or health altercations. The health staff accompanies the students in interdisciplinary work with the counseling group for the follow-up and accompaniment of students who require it. Among the services we provide are:
- Health care coverage of the health situations presented.
- Care and stabilization in emergency situations.
- Administration of prescribed medications
- Accompanying students with health situations.
- Justification of medical incapacities
