Our alumni excel in the area of Medicine. Edmond Feris Cure, class of 2006, is working in the United States on an initiative that seeks to revolutionize Cancer treatments. His work focuses specifically on a therapy that aims to inhibit the gene that causes Cancer cells to avoid the human immune system. Since his early years, he showed an interest in Science, he was a very curious child. Edmond has a bachelor's degree in Science from Boston College, and a PhD in Experimental and Molecular Medicine from Dartmouth College.
Seeing his relatives suffer the disease was the gasoline for him to speed up various of his previous research. “I developed a new technology to find new treatments for many types of Cancer during my PhD work at Dartmouth. Based on that, and with the help of the accelerator, we will try to bring new treatments to Cancer patients”, says Feris. Without a doubt, Edmond is Marymount's pride!
