Our Campus
Marymount Barranquilla has two campuses: Preschool, located in Barranquilla and the main campus, located on the outskirts of the city in Sabanilla, in the Puerto Colombia municipality. The main campus houses the elementary and high school buildings, the administrative offices and sports facilities.
Preschool Campus
The Preschool campus, located at Carrera 59 # 84 – 226, receives students from Nursery, Pre-Kinder and Kinder grade levels. Aside from having wide classrooms, the students enjoy other specialized rooms such as "Body Movement", Computer Room, oratory, as well as the parks and recreation areas where imagination and creativity are the main players.
Elementary Building
The new Elementary School facilities at Marymount School have an area of 10,883 sq meters and two levels, with ample spaces that support collaborative learning and respond to the formative demands of a 21st century education. Students will be able to develop learning experiences in the new, ample and modern spaces with advanced technology in 24 classrooms, a complete science lab, a chapel and four specialty rooms for music, dance, art and theater.
Elementary Building
The second floor has a multipurpose room and a center of knowledge and technology, a great space that motivates learning in different environments, it is inviting to reading and promotes innovation and creativity. The building is enabled to attend the needs of everyone, with five entrances, access to stairs or ramp, staff room with terrace, gardens and snack bars.
Chapel
It is a priority at Marymount School to offer an education founded on Catholic principles. This is why, the Elementary building has a chapel with capacity for 150 people, tabernacle, altar, stained glass by Colombian artist, Obregon, and Sister Johanna's nook. This is a space for the whole Marymount community, where we can continue to foster spirituality in our students and offer an appropriate place to strengthen their relationship with God. In this chapel we will celebrate weekly masses for both sections and some sacraments.
Recreation Area
Convinced that learning happens both inside and outside the classrooms, and aware of the importance of recreational space in the learning process of our students, we have a new Elementary School recreation area, with an innovative and dynamic design created by some of our High School students as part of their art elective, which motivates our children to interact and enjoy in a healthy and fun way.

This new recreation area is equipped with different games such as zipline, honeycomb, swings, sky-runner, hillside slides and a central module with different activities that foster the development of their motor skills while having fun.
Infirmary
The infirmary, located on the first floor of the Elementary School building, has access from outside to attend the needs of the Elementary and High School community as well as the staff sharing the common areas of the facility. For the first time, a physician and a nurse attend the student body and other members of the community who require this service. This is a space equipped with two attention cubicles with stretchers and a bathroom in each one.
High School Building
During the first construction stage of the new campus, we finished the High School building with an area of 10,520 square meters, designed to promote the collaboration between students and teachers. The spaces are unique and allow for the development of creativity, 21st century skills and basic competences of each area of knowledge. It is a concept that combines urban aspects with its ample hallways and common areas with outside nature which is brought inside and is reflected in the green walls. We want to offer a formative experience to our students.
High School Building
The new building is equipped with thermo-acoustic windows, LED lamps, acoustic ceiling and a high-efficiency air conditioning system for more comfort and less energy consumption. Also, we have an elevator, a complete system in case of fire and plenty of lighting along the ample hallways of the second floor, in order to provide a comfortable, safe and beneficial space for both individual and collaborative learning.
High School Building
On both floors, you will find 26 L-shaped classrooms, each of approximately 110 sq meters, equipped with high-technology equipment which allow for our students to be educated in global competence. Also, we have special rooms for art, drama, music and dance, three double height laboratories, two multipurpose rooms, a library, several offices, three snack bars, a staff lounge, array of bathrooms equipped with toilets and automatic sinks, lockers with integrated locks and a space created especially for our 12th grade students, their Senior Lounge.
Common Areas
The collaborative spaces that are part of the common areas foster collaborative learning, promoting assertive communication and authentic teamwork. Here, students will live a unique and different learning experience.
Classrooms
Each classroom has approximately 100 sq meters and is equipped with an audio and video integrated system which includes two speakers, interactive videobeam and a control touchscreen.

The classrooms also have a ceramic magnetic and scratch-free whiteboard. Our formative processes have been revamped to meet the language of our students with our interactive videobeam which enables the option of the smartboard which facilitates the utilization of audiovisual resources and also allows for immediate interactivity of the contents with the students.
Laboratories
The Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories are designed to integrate the learning environment and the comfort of a classroom with a space equipped for the practice and realization of experiments. The adequacy of the space in each laboratory, as well as air circulation, comply with both national and international standards. Each laboratory has a storage area and a room to prepare chemical materials.
In addition, the School has a sports center which includes a 25 meter pool, soccer fields, tennis courts, a softball and baseball field, and a coliseum with indoor volleyball and basketball courts to promote physical activity, sports and other extracurricular activities.
Among its short-term plans the School plans to build a chapel-auditorium and a new cafeteria/lunchroom.
